A cherub, who shall herein be named "Cherub", asked for some advice about the economics of music, which sent me on a trip down memory lane to a time when there was such a thing as an economics of music. This is not the pessimism of an aging rocker who believes, like Homer Simpson that music was scientifically perfected in 1973. (It wasn't. Reign in Blood wasn't released until 1986). It's actually an optimistic view and it's based on recognising one thing: There is a difference between the economics of ideas and the economics of things.
